Summary

Do you know what the difference between a house and a home is? This story follows 16 year old Isadora Ramirez Gonzalez’s journey struggling to accept her LGBTQ+ identity, while living in a house with homophobic parents, an experience unfortunately faced by many LGBTQ+ youths.

My hope is that this short film helps Hispanic LGBTQ+ youth who may be struggling with their identity or mental health recognize that, while their journey may not be easy, life is worth living and hope is worth having.

Why this Story?

Based on the Trevor Project's 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health:

  • 60% of Latinx LGBTQ+ youth experience Major Depressive Disorder

  • 46%  of Latinx LGBTQ+ youth considered suicide

  • 16%  of Latinx LGBTQ+ youth attempted suicide

These statistics are heartbreaking, and our team, some of whom are apart of our target community, wanted to address the crisis and provide that visible representation to those who may need it.
